Craigmount
High School Solo Piping & Drumming competition
was held today in Edinburgh, Scotland. The event
marked the first ever 'Qualification Heats' in a
solo tenor competition in Scotland with 20
competitors in the 14 & Under competition. The
18 & Under competition was won by Murray Winton
of George Watson's College and the 14 & Under
competition was captured by Siobhan Kelly of
Blair Atholl..

is officially launched (1st December, 2008). After a good
few weeks under construction the website finally
comes to life, have a browse around and

The bass and tenor drummers of the 2008
World Champion Simon Fraser University
Pipe Band have been chosen by readers of
pipes|drums to receive the 2008 Hosbilt
Cup, the annual prize that was
traditionally awarded to the best
bass-section in Grade 1 at the World
Pipe Band Championships.

The 2009 Jim Bird Memorial Juvenile
Tenor & Solo Drumming Competition, held
in Dumbarton, Scotland, was captured by
Lewis Thorpe (u18) and Joanna Fairbairn
(U16). The event turned out a fine crop
of talents from across all levels, from
beginner through to advanced.
